I consider myself fortunate to have three canine companions. My first, Sheru (pomerian), died when I was 18 years old. But, over 18 years, he taught us the true meaning of love. A love that does not require any language and is not discriminated against because of religion, race, or color. He welcomes stray dogs into our hearts. He became friends with many stray dogs, and his gentle nature allowed us to open up to and get to know them.
I recently lost two companions, so I understand how devastating it is to lose a close relative. I recognize separation anxiety, and in their opinion We can’t speak their languages, and they can’t speak ours, so in our world, we’re only connected by feelings. And loss and separation cause us and our friends to become disoriented.
They are free to roam at home, and lots of playtime with us, home-cooked meals, and long walks help them enjoy their stay with us.
